Full set or fill-in: what is the difference?

Reference
NAIL ENHANCEMENTS

A full set creates or replaces the enhancement structure; a fill maintains an existing set by addressing new growth and rebalancing the product.

FULL SETNew structure or major change
FILLMaintenance of compatible product
TIMINGDepends on growth and condition

What to know

Choose a full set when

You have no current enhancement, need complete removal and replacement, want a major shape change, or the existing structure is no longer sound.

Choose a fill when

The current enhancement is secure, compatible with the service, and suitable to maintain. The technician refreshes the grown-out area and rebalances the nail.

What can change the plan

  • Lifting, cracks, or missing product may require repairs.
  • Changing product systems can require removal.
  • Longer nails may need extra shaping or structure.
  • Waiting too long can make a fill unsuitable.
Important: The technician must see the condition of the current set before confirming a fill. Safety and structure take priority over preserving old product.
