When nail or skin concerns need medical attention first

Reference
SALON STANDARDS • WHEN TO WAIT

A nail or beauty service can enhance appearance and comfort, but it should never cover a condition that needs medical diagnosis or treatment.

What to know

Nail and skin warning signs

Significant pain, swelling, warmth, drainage, spreading redness, open sores, unexplained discoloration, or rapidly changing skin should be evaluated before cosmetic service.

Eye-area warning signs

Active eye infection, unexplained swelling, discharge, severe irritation, or recent eye procedures are reasons to postpone lash or brow work.

Why postponing matters

  • Cosmetic product can hide changes that need evaluation.
  • Filing or chemical exposure may worsen irritated tissue.
  • Some conditions can be contagious.
  • A medical professional can advise when cosmetic service is appropriate again.
Important: When in doubt, protect your health first. Siam Nail Spa’s team may decline or postpone a service when the area does not appear suitable for cosmetic treatment.
